Since joining Nth Power in 2000, Matt has focused on evaluating, investing in and helping to grow companies in distributed generation, solar, energy storage, transportation and smart grid. In total, Matt has led or was a key contributor on 16 portfolio company investments, including Comverge (COMV). Currently, he is a director on the Boards of Tempronics, Topanga, REEL Solar, and Precursor Energetics, and an observer on the Board of Glasspoint Solar.
Prior to joining Nth Power, Matt was a consultant for Accenture in their utility practice group. He advised clients on market restructuring and information technology initiatives. On one specific project, he helped create a new organization within an investor owned utility for the purpose of interacting with the deregulated power market.
Matt earned a BS in mechanical engineering from the University of California at Davis where he received the V. Glen Winslow Award as the most outstanding graduating man of his class. He also received an MBA from Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business where he was a Keller Scholar.
